The mission of Balloons for Luv is to support the emotional needs of children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses through the free delivery of colorful Mylar balloons to their hospital bedsides during times of painful and often frightening treatments. The ultimate goal of Balloons for Luv is to reach thousands of children by growing from one hospital to a nationwide endeavor across the United States.
Balloons for Luv was founded on the principle that the most effective way to treat children suffering from catastrophic illness is to support medical treatment with moral support designed especially for children. According to our founder, Barbara Sayed, many children who receive Balloons for Luv take their balloon with them to treatments. Balloons are refilled as often as necessary so they can always keep them nearby. While doctors and nurses focus on delivering the most effective medical treatment possible for the children, Balloons for Luv delivers a different, but just as important, kind of treatment.
